CLOTA OPENS “CLUE THE MUSICAL” MAY 26
Are you ready to play the game to win? This summer, musicals return to the Community Light Opera and Theatre Association with “Clue the Musical,” directed by Angie Sonia-Pritchard with musical direction by Jordan Covert. With a book by Peter De Pietro, lyrics by Tom Chiodo, and music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker, and Vinnie Martucci, the stage musical brings the popular Parker Brothers’™ board game to larger-than-life-size as Mr. Boddy, played by theatre perennial Calvin Johnson, gleefully guides the audience to solve his imminent demise, possibly at the hands of six very colorful suspects—Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, and Mr. Green. Each motive is different. Could Mrs. Peacock, newly wed to Mr. Boddy, be planning to make off with his fortune? Does Col. Mustard have a secret past with Mrs. Peacock? What sort of business is Mr. Green really in? What is Mr. Boddy holding over Mrs. White’s head? Does Miss Scarlet already know one of her fellow guests? And is Professor Plum trying to woo the Detective in charge of the case?
Also starring Rachael West, Ben Bockhahn, Elaine Stewart, Kaylee Morris, Ben Covert, Jonathan Blair, River Cotterell, Star Woodridge, Briona Stewart, and Jessyca Merati, the show contains 216 possible solutions because the audience will pick a different set of cards every night, just like in the original game. Featuring an original storyline and packed with songs, “Clue the Musical” will invite actors and audience to play along and figure out whodunit, where, and with what. Ready for the biggest Game Night yet? Can you solve Mr. Boddy’s murder?
“Clue the Musical” will be performed on May 26, 27, June 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at CLOTA Center Stage (1425 N. Inyo St.) with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, June 4th. Tickets are $25 each and are on sale now at Red Rock Books and online at clota.org. For more information, visit clota.org or CLOTA on Facebook and Instagram.
